WELCOME TO ALTERNATIVE REALITY...

The year is 1921 and the relations between the British Empire and the Republic of America can be described as a ... Cold War.

Lets start with a short historical review... For more than a century the British Empire was the only superpower in the world. Using vast natural resources, almost unlimited manpower and the brightest minds of the Empire, they were able create economical and military might which is unmatched in human history. Huge imperial war machinery rules the ocean, the air and the ground. No other country can match deadly imperial dreadnoughts, fearsome gravity defiers or endless legions of crack ground troops. And thats not all. British might goes far beyond the final frontier. In 1905 on the island of Ascencion, the british engineers constructed a huge cannon, enormous in size and power, to launch projectiles with both passengers and cargo to the space. Since then, 5 other cannons were build and more than 100 brave englishmen had the chance to see the Empire from the space.

In the first decade of 20th century a new challenger appears on the horizon.  Young and  daring country born in the struggle for independence from the Britain and forged in the civil war - The Republic of America. Safe haven for oppressed people from the Empire and for everyone who wants to live his american dream. One of them was... Nikola Tesla. Genius who created The Shield, the ultimate secret weapon to defend his new homeland. No one really knows how it works... or... IF it works properly. But who cares? It seems that just the  existence of Tesla's superweapon is enough to keep Imperial dreadnoughts at the safe distance from American soil.

Today, June 9th 1921, the house of Nicola Tesla in Delaware was stormed by a group of masked attackers in an apparent kidnapping attempt. The assault was repelled but during fierce firefight Nikola Tesla was critically wounded and died 2 hours later in the hospital. The mastermind behind american defense is dead and the Cold War just gets a little bit hotter...

Back to reality. This is some kind of a background "story" for a collection of artworks from "dieselpunk" universe full of strange vehicles and inventions i am going to do in the near future. I hope i will find some more time to paint... Wish me luck

after Indiana Jones... it seems that another legend is about to be killed... or... terminated.

First of all - I havent seen it yet. Just the trailer... which is really amazing  but thats common feature for all trailers... and especially trailers for bad movies looks great

From everywhere there is a lot of critics on T4 movie and i personally doubt that McG has the ability to make a at least decent sequel to Camerons epic tale. I am quite affraid that it will end like charlies angels with robots... Have you seen it? Is it really that bad? I didnt want to witness another end of a legend. Killing of Indy was more than enough

whats your opinion on this movie?

PS: dont care about spoilers... from the review it looks that the story is really bad

I have logged out of DA and suddenly an ad appear with words LOVE, HATE etc... solution SCIENTOLOGY! I really think that such an ad should not be on the DA, DA should stay away from politcs, religion... not to mention stuff like scientology. I am looking for hires images of cities, skyscrapers, abandoned urban area, industrial buildings, heavy machinery (like harbor cranes, mining technology...) and also interesting nature locations (coastal areas, mountains...)to use them in my artworks. If you have such a photos - please send these photos to my email sketchboook@gmail.com or post here links to these pictures. It can be  skyline from your city, nearby beach, factory... something what may be uninteresting for you because you see  it every day. I prefer shots from interesting points of view - from rooftops etc...

You can also post links to galleries of such a photos, but i will prefer your photos with because of copyright laws.

First Indy, now James... fortunately i didnt have any more childhood heroes to kill

James Bond is cool because:

- amazing cars
- wicked adversaries
- beautiful women  
- charm and charisma
- humor
- no one takes it too seriously
- Q and M and Ms. Moneypenny
- cool gadgets made by Q
- funny russians
- quite unrealistic and almost always amazing stories
- he is not politically correct

James Bond played by Daniel Craig is cool because:

- aston martin?
- trying hard to find enything else... 0 results

New James Bond is just a Jason Bourne played by new actor. Casino royale and Quantom of Solace - both are great action movies but NOT Bond movies. Craig has a charm similar to robocop, his bond lost sense of humor and he doesnt drink vodka martini, shaken not stirred. He is just running from A to B like crazy...  

Oh yeas, there is also a about HUGE product placement - gin Gordons, badguys driving hydrogen Ford SUV, Olga has some small ugly Ford etc...

Not to mention that new bond girls are asexual like never before, no wonder that there is no traditional love scene Or maybe we are waiting for his coming out? Sorry ladies, i am a gay?

Hi, i am going to buy a notebook and i ma quite lost in all the models on the market.

It should be ultimate graphic/gaming notebook


- at least 4GB RAM + slots for another 4GB

- most powerful graphic card available for notebooks

- large screen, preferably 18" or more (i know that there are even few 20" notebooks)

- high quality of screen when it comes to colors, sharpness etc

- weight and size is not a problem, i will not carry it everyday somewhere else, it is just for occasional transport.

- bigger HDD is better HDD

- reliability etc

- fullsize keyboard

And i prefer PC to Mac


I am thankfull for any tips!
